Eric Mogensen is the CEO of Zoofari Parks, which owns and operates three amazing zoological parks in the eastern U.S. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, he has provided exceptional care to exotic animals, improved conservation efforts for wildlife, and educated many generations about the beautiful animals that call Alabama Safari Park their home.
Alabama Safari Park, a 350-acre safari park, is the most recent park built by Eric Mogensen and works to provide animals with as natural a habitat as possible for the animals living there. It features a 3-mile road where you can feed and see exotic animals free-roaming and up close, without barriers.
Mogensen is committed to the health and wellbeing of animals, both within his zoos and in the wild. He is dedicated to saving wildlife through public education, captive breeding programs, habitat preservation, and partnering with conservation projects.
It is for this reason that all of the parks under his management work closely with conservation societies and associations, and why they provide grants to fund conservation projects around the world. As part of this effort, he added the role of Corporate Conservation Coordinator to oversee the myriad of on-going conservation efforts.
To date, he has organized partnerships between Alabama Safari Park and these top conservation programs:
1. Grevy's Zebra Trust
2. Giraffe Conservation Foundation
3. Sahara Conservation Foundation
4. Source Population Alliance
5. Penguin Conservation at the Dyer Island Conservation Trust
6. Cheetah Conservation Fund
7. Schmidt's Guenon, Animal Management Program, Zoological Association of America
Not only is conservation and education a top priority, but Mogensen has a long list of experience and affiliations which include:
